18th Century Rare Spode Bone China Bute Shape Coffee Can & Saucer Circa 1790
AN OUTSTANDING 18TH CENTURY RARE SPODE BONE CHINA BUTE SHAPED COFFEE CAN AND SAUCER PATTERN NO. BOTH PIECES ARE DECORATED VERY SIMPLY IN A COBALT BLUE ENAMEL WITH A DESIGN KNOWN AS CHANTILLY SPRIG WHICH DERIVES FROM THE FRENCH PORCELAIN AT THE CHANTILLY FACTORY IN FRANCE. THEIR DIMENSIONS AND CONDITION ARE AS FOLLOWS. SAUCER/BOWL: 13.5 CM IN DIAMETER - NO CHIPS, HAIRLINES OR CRACKS BUT THERE APPEARS TO BE A FIRING FAULT ON THE INTERIOR OF THE SAUCER (SEE PHOTOS). COFFEE CAN: 6.5 CM IN DIAMETER X 6.5 CM IN HEIGHT - NO CHIPS, CRACKS, HAIRLINES OR CRAZING BUT HAS MINOR FLEA BITES AROUND THE BUE RIM. A RARE AND UNUSUAL SPODE PLAIN WHITE PORCELAIN SET WITH MINIMAL DECORATION.
